You’ve probably heard that there’s no new thing under the sun, right? So how on Earth can Matty pop up and claim to have resolved the apparent differences between science and the Bible?
Simple: It wasn’t really science. It’s popular science (SciPop) or science falsely so called. What’s worse is that the overwhelming success of technology (science) has fooled everyone into thinking that SciPop must be true. The knock-on effect is that for generations theologians have been trying to come up with ways for Christians to be able to understand the Bible from within the SciPop paradigm. There’s no longer any reason to do this.
Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.
(Matthew 13:52) KJV
According to this passage, a scribe who is instructed in the kingdom of heaven can bring out things that are new and old. IF Matty’s bringing out things that are new (and old) THEN Matty must be a scribe. Cause and effect. Matty doesn’t need to cobble together a theology which is a capitulation with SciPop. Matty can destroy SciPop.
